Hey Ryan, I've been following your resto and congrats on what you have accomplished so far  :2thumbs:. I've been doing little things here and there; soda blasting fenders and other misc pieces, freshening up the rear defogger unit and am about to rebuild my lower door hinges. I'll try and get some updates soon.

My car has been stripped for over a year now, and my best (financial) option at this time was to buy some Spraymax 2k primer that comes in a rattle can and get it somewhat covered. also took the opportunity to see how the AMD valance fits, it actually fits better than I first thought. Here's a pic.

Thought I would put the YOM plate on for fun.

Not to overstate the obvious but do by all means get it covered with something.  A buddy of mine is redoing a 68 Shelby and stripped it and then let it sit too long and had to go back to square one.

Thanks guys, a sweaty palm or splash of water really results in quick rust formation and I understand from reading the forums that just because you can't see the rest it's forming.

Door Hinges
My door's have never closed (hinged) correctly and I was never really sure what part(s) I may be missing for the hinges. One side had a roller the other didn't, one side had the little piece the roller rolls on and the other didn't and the hinges were just loose.

Many years ago I bought the door pin and bushing repair kit from the local parts store (Canadian Tire) and had it laying around, then I thought I may need something better.

I purchased the Door Hinge Pin Kit you see on the right in the first picture.

Bought the drill bit and gave it a shot, had a hard time with the drill bit and then gave up.

Figured I would bite the bullet and get the hinges rebuilt instead of buying the new AMD hinges.

Searched around with what others were saying and decided on SMS.

Here they are cleaned up and lubed and the rods and rollers look very solid, better than originals.

My car is nowhere near ready and I only installed the doors to get them out of the way but it's nice to see the doors open and stay open and close smoothly.

Rear Defogger
Rather simple just took apart, soaked some parts in Evaporust and others I stripped and repainted. The finish may not be exactly correct but in my opinion looks better.

Looks nice! Evaporust works great for parts like that.

Here is the car on the way to our new downsized house. Where am I gonna put everything, lol.

Arriving, was fun watching it "drive" down the road.

Currently looking for someone local to take the car on for body work and paint, finding it a bit challenging. Will talk to a couple of shops next week before the Canadian long weekend Thanksgiving.

Hey JB, yes mostly unpacked. Looks like I have found a restoration shop to take on my car, need to put all the parts back on that will need to get painted. Getting transported next weekend, hopefully the southern Ontario weather co-operates.  :2thumbs:

It's a 69, he says tell me what you notice wrong with this car, he opens the door and it's got a Pistol Grip shifter, says he tried to talk the customer out of it but it's what he wanted. Nice car, but does have some odd customer requested finishes on it.  A few others in the showroom that are in for a bit of work.
