How to remove heater control levers

I got the whole control unit out of the Charger but I'm not sure how to remove the sliding levers from the switch (the white or now yellow box). Are the just "push on"? I tried to get them out with a screwdriver but no luck - well, I didn't try for a long time as I didn't want to break anything.

Any special tricks?

if A/C  remove the white/cream electric/vacum switch  & the  levers slide back as they are in sort of runners !  non A/C is prolly the sameish , just never done one

I recently rebuilt mine, the levers pop out of the unit with a little pressure from a small screwdriver, and then slide out of the metal carrier. The fan control and heater valve control take a little more work. My white/yellow unit was broken but was easily replaced with a new one, got plenty of good help from this board on that project. :2thumbs: It was a 68 AC car.

Thanks guys! It's an A/C car - just wasn't sure if the levers are somehow locked to the switch.
Does anyone have the part number of the white switch? I read that you can still get it from a dealership but the numbers have been revised several times. My switch looks ok but just in case.
