looking forward on this not needing right now BUT I know what I will find next time since I already did. Thrust buttons smashed. They are clearly NOT HARDENED. These are the ones what Doctor diff sells. I got replacements from him some time ago, same pieces I got smashed first time, so I know what I will find someday in the next future ( I have to adjust pining and gears, since I haven't able to stop the whinning sound )

where to find hardened units ?
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

terrible one

Wow, that makes some sense of what I encountered when I tore mine apart. I had switched to a Suregrip carrier and simply got the "new" thrust buttons from Ebay. I installed it and the car was simply rolled around, rolled on and off of the trailer, blah blah . . . very little of anything. Well when I tore it back apart to actually rebuild the Suregrip unit, I noticed they were already galled and gouged up! Sadly, I just cleaned them up and put them back. Should have known that they should be hardened and not easy to scratch up. I think I remember reading about this happening with some of the new fuel pump pushrods too. Why make a "new" part if it can't even do it's job?! Just one more thing to worry about now  :brickwall:
