my charger has @ 6.5" between the core support and the front of the water pump pulley.  I stuffed a pretty huge fluidyne rad in mine with dual spal fans... the fans are mounted high on the rad and one of them had to be trimmed very slightly to fit.  gutted the spring and tower off my thermostat and put it back in (it's basically a restrictor plate now, don't run with no thermostat at all, you should have something in there) and run the fans off a sensor that turns them on at 170 and off at 140.  cool as a cucumber. never goes above 170-175.

my car has a big block that I swapped in and a factory 22" wide core support opening.  didn't need to trim at all.

what year charger and motor do you have? i want to get a fluidyne rad for my 68 charger and 73 challenger. what is the dimensions on your radiator? are you happy with the fluidyne overall got any installed pics you could post? i'd  like to get a aluminum radiator with a clutch fan if it fits and 1 or 2 electric fans on the front with a switch for them hot days and sitting in traffic.

.  I don't think a clutch fan will work with this rad. it's really thick.  This motor had a history of runnin hot form the minute I put it in.  This rad and fan combo solved all of it.  I don't know.  I'm usually up to my ass in all the details of my car, but in this case, my friend works with a guy who used to work for evans cooling and he just took care of it for me so I'm not exactly sure of the dimensions.  I will do some measuring.

it's a 68 charger with a 440.
