Looking at the forest instead of the trees, I can't see how running Mopar guys off benefits this site; surely it's ok for members of the same brotherhood to have different opinions without digressing to mud slinging?
I have seen the same thing happen on other, unrelated sites and it never ceases to amaze me.
This guy is benefitting from guys going to his site to read his articles, but they seem to be 100% car related, and you have to willingly want to go there if you want to read the article. I dunno, to me it seems kinda like shooting a gopher with a bazooka.

Went back and read all of "Mystarcollectorcar"'s threads to see how evil he really was. Perhaps one of the moderators could weigh in on this one and clarify what linking behaviour are acceptable, and which are not. To me , what this guy was doing is no different than the guy that says "check out my awesome 69 Charger burnout!" and has a link to you tube. At this point I cant either a) click the link and go there and watch the clip, or b) take a pass and move on to the next thread; either which way I am making a choice, not being forced to do anything. Again, just wondering if this warrant runnng fellow Mopar/Charger guys from this site. To me it's still a mole hill. :Twocents:

Nobody "ran him off" IMO, if that's what you're thinking. Sometimes people come here (just like anywhere) under false pretenses, sporting an attitude, pushing agendas, whatever, and get smacked around until they either leave or straighten up. Ask Cody (69bronzeT5) how it went when he first showed up here. He got the smackdown but chose to be honest, stick to it and prove himself. Nobody gets ran off but some choose to leave. This guy apparently could stand the heat he himself had generated.

RD

I disagree bull, he didnt create the heat, but it was applied to him.  he reacted in a defensive way when it seemed many believed the same towards calling him names and chastising him.

it was not until others starting support him that a fine balance was achieved.

SPAM is SPAM is SPAM is SPAM is SPAM. He created the SPAM and he delivered the SPAM. :brickwall:

He may very well be a saint in his personal life. His website may very well be the finest contribution to the advancement of mankind since the printing press was invented.

It is his motives and agenda that are abusive. No one is abused when somebody posts a link to a Charger vid. We are all abused when he shoves his commercial agenda on the reader. We are bombed with commercial crap all day long. I for one didn't need more of it at this great forum.

Do you think he allowed spammers and pirates to post commercial agenda messages on his website? No way; so he was held accountable here and then he left.

To his credit his last few posts left out the agenda crap. Then he decided to exit. I was pleased with the first, neutral on the second. In the big scheme of life, none of this matters. I got a laugh out of the pillow fight icon.

He was wrong. He was called on it. Others, including myself, politely suggested he refrain from posting the results of a race in the title of a thread so that others that maybe taped it did not have the ending ruined for them. He said we were not true Nascar fans because we did not watch it live. His indifference and throwing the blame back at others is what prompted the name-calling. Yes, it may be wrong, but we tried the "light feather" approach. This guy needed to be hit with a hammer. So I did. He left because he wanted to. Nobody "chased" him off the site.

well, if someone dont like it, dont click on it. if they dont click on it, it wont hurt them.

it did not bother me one way or the other.  I was never forced to open his threads, and neither is anyone else.  I do not know how it is affecting people so personally.  its a choice to click on it.

if troy didnt tell him to stop, who gives anyone else the authority to judge his posts as not being appropriate for this site?

lets leave what should and should not be on this site up to the troy and the site's moderators shall we?

no offense mate, but you are just as wrong since he did not say anything about true nascar fans until you called him a dumbass.  if light feather approach means calling people vulgar names, I would hate to see your "heavy-feather" approach.

I am not saying his smart ass comments back to you were appropriate, I am saying that you started the proverbial snow ball down hill when you did your smart ass comment first.  He apologized before your statement, but you took it personally and called him a dumbass.  You are saying he is bad, well then you are just as guilty.

I didn't consider that an apology. I guess I will just disagree with you and call it good unless you want to keep this going. Up to you.

The problem was the fact that nobody had to open that thread for it to hurt them.   He posted the winner in the title!

That's not the issue I see with that thread- it's the comments he made AFTER in the thread. Mainly regarding "real Nascar fans" and recording races.
