Leaking van

Not sure that this the most exciting thing to post about but maybe there is someone else out there with a Toyota Sienna that is leaking and it will save them a handful of frustrating hours.

Nothing I hate more than trying to figure out where a car, or in this case our minivan, is leaking. It was leaking in the back of the van and would pool up in the bottom of the rear seat storage as in the first pic. I setup some fake rain and let it sit a bit and checked the rear to find there was a ton of water. Cool, this is happening quickly. So I turned the rain on again and crawled into the van to find that it was actually leaking in through one of the body panel seams on the rear wall. That means that water was getting inside the body somewhere. After pulling off the gasket and a few other things I found the culprit. A plastic attachment for the rear bumper had popped out and the U channel on the top of it was channeling the rain water into the body.  I snapped it back in but figuring it will probably pop out again I used some low VOC caulking on the joint. Tomorrow after the caulk dries I will hook up my rain and check it but that should do it.

Easy, I like that for once.  :2thumbs:
