Slant 6 in my Dart is spitting oil/water out the tail pipe????

I have been driving the Dart now again, since I have no Charger, for about 1 1/2 months after it had sat for about a year with minimal use. When I first started driving it again it started up and would idle there kinda puff puff puffing puff puff but no discharge from the tail pipe. Now it sounds the same but there is a splatter on the ground of black soot or oil and a water splatter mix. It is staining the garage floor right below the tail pipe and seems to be a mix . It runs fine at higher speeds but still kinda misses(puff puff) a bit idleing. I changed all the fluids out before I started driving it again. So does any one know what this might be? Thank you.

the black stuff is probably from your engine running to rich and when mixed with the common condensation caused by the chemical reaction of your combustion makes it look like oil.  I would have your carb checked out, leaned out or rebuilt.  Make sure you check all your spark plugs also.  If your carb was running a rich mixture, it could have fouled your plugs making small intermittent "misses" while driving.  got pics?

when my charger had a junk 318 and a carb that was way too big it did that and i thought it was spitting oil out the back, turned out it was just running waaaay too rich.

i think its just rich and severely out of tune. Have you pulled the plugs to look at them? I have a feeling they are fouled out. Thats how it looked behind my coronet that had been sitting for along time.
id suspect the carb as well. might not hurt to try to uncarbon up the engine as well. take it on the highway, or run some seafoam through it or something

if it sat the carbon in the pipes may have loosened off & is being blow out , some condesation is normal from the pipes

I wiped some up with my fingers and smelled it. It didn't smell like oil, mainly smelled like water and something that wasn't gas or oil, not sure what though. And I saw the "soot" running down my fingers with the water. It seemed to be particles and I wouldn't think oil would mix that way with water without being hot enough to burn the crap out of my hands which it didn't. It sounds like it needs a serious tune up,,,,,,sooooo I guess I will get off  my butt this weekend and do a little fine tuning. Thanks again folks. :icon_smile_big:

Just to be on the safe side you might want to do a combustion leak down test when you do that tune up.

And don't forget to do the standard compression tests with that tune up.
