Took the Charger to work today - short video getting on freeway

I had to go to a few worksites today, and on the spur of the moment took the '68. The gauges are all now working (except the ammeter, of course, which stays disconnected) so it is a bit less worrysome driving any distances. I thought to record a short video using my iphone, as I know how much the members here like action.  :yesnod:      I included a bit of the gauges...the pressure transducer is a bit off as the pressure should be (it was checked with a mechanical gauge) about 60 psi at speed. It was a rare sunny day in Northern California...sure hope the rain is done.  :icon_smile_wink:

I wish getting on the freeway in Atlanta at 8 AM was as fun. I don't like moving a 5 MPH in the '68 Charger.  65 MPH is more like it.

Yep, part of the problem recording with the iphone and rowing through the gears is that road "noise" gets transmitted through the steering wheel while my left hand is pulling double duty. I'm looking for a proper mounting for the iphone to get better video. Wow, double entendres abounding....  ;)

It was a good ride.

3.23's. Don't go by the tachometer too much. It was updated with solid state electronics but still needs fine tuning. At 70 mph steady speed indicated the tach actually reads 2,700. I have not run the numbers to see how accurate it is.

I was thinking the same thing.  I was comfy with my auto until I heard the roar of his gears.
Paint looks nice too. :2thumbs:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Actually driving around durring the day in the bay area I'm suprised Dan was able to go faster than 20 mph.

When I went to Washington to see Bryan he let me drive his Daytona and I don't think I was able to get it above 25mph.

Petal pushers are no fun going slow.

Looks like fun. Can't wait to try it for real instead of just sitting on a bucket in the garage making motor boat sounds.

When I ran a tach on mine I used to get 2000 at 50 mph and 3000 at 70 but no idea of the accuracy of the tach. and that was with 3:54 gears :shruggy:

Does your 383 always run that warm?  - looks like the engine temp (according to the guage) is running in the upper half of the normal range.
