Wondering if anyone would mind decoding this vin for me.
Thanks in advance.

VIN:   xp29h9b250220
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Doc
Wow that was quick, thanks so much.  Not to push my luck but I have another vin for you if you don't mind.
VIN:XS29L8B219630
I'll take a stab at some.  X= charger, S= standard, 29=2 door sports ht, L=440??, 8=1968, B=MI, last six are production sequence?
Thanks again.
Curious, does premium stand for SE maybe??
What would deliniate 500, R/T, and so on??

Correct on all but S which stands for Special as in R/T or 500.
Premium just means stock, so any charger with a 383 4bbl or smaller.SE is an option so it's on the fender tag, I don't think that shows in the VIN, if I'm wrong, I will be corrected... :icon_smile_big:
A 500 or Daytona would start with XX .
And this 68 would be the 119629th Vehicle.

I have or rather had a small program somewhere that decodes vins and tags but there's a few here if you want to check some more.

Or ask here if something's unclear, between the bickering and the practical jokes, we sometimes help someone out  :D

Oh and you're welcome, always glad to help .

VIN: xp29h9b250220

That first one is Kenny Wayne Shepard's first General Lee clone.

I have it in the registry.   The second one I do not.  Care to register? ;)

Unless he made a typo, I think the reason the 2nd VIN isn't in the registry is because it is for a 68 Charger R/T.

DOH!!

Why would I think anyone was looking at a 68??  ;)

I don't know, I mean they have the weird tail lights and all.

mikepmcs

Yes, the first one is Kenny Wayne Shepherd's car.
I guess I'll need the fender tag to see if it is a real SE.  Can anyone tell me what options were on an SE.  I've been out of the Charger biz since I was 16(first car 1970 Charger Plum Crazy) that was 23 years ago.  Recently sold a 69 RR same color.  I want my Charger back!
Thanks

I'm waiting for Mr Shepherd to call me back.  I just want to know if it's worth 26.5.  I got lots of questions for him, but it does have some options, power windows(rear don't work), a/c(no compressor), am/8track.
Any advice is appreciated. I imagine the price is driven up due to him being a recording artist, and the fact that it's a GL clone doesn't help due to the popularity of the movie, but if it's a real SE, it might be worth looking in to.

can someone tell me what these codes mean on my fender tag ive got them all figured but these
               -C6T
               ,G9B
               -2G
               -172104
               -XP29
thatnks for any input..... and but the way what are belt mouldings M31.....?

roger01

69charger2002

C6T would be tan interior i believe, G9B means: G=383 single 2 barrel carb, 9 means 69 B=hamtramck michigan plant where the car was made..
2G.. hmm you got me there.. maybe what you paid for the car??? kidding   :icon_smile_big:
172104, order number of the car, basically pointless info..
XP29, standard charger, not an R/T. designated on all non r/t models in 1969, from /6 to 383.. technically XP29 means premium class hardtop car
hope this helps
i live in CHARGERLAND.. visitors welcome. 166 total, 7 still around

Roger, where is the "-2G" you referenced found on your fender tag?  That would go a long ways towards decoding what it means.

The M31 Body Belt Mouldings were the stainless steel mouldings that ran along the top edge of the door (and quarterpanel rear window opening) sheet metal, at the base of the side glass.  They run from the A Pillar to the back corner of the rear window, where it intersects with the M21 Drip Rail Moulding.  It's also what will scald the hair off your arm in July/August when you roll the window down and stick your arm out the window.  DAMHIK   :smash:

A possibility, the 2G may be "26" for a 26" radiator.  :shruggy:

1969 Charger R/T 440 4 speed

2005 Ram 2500 4x4 Big Horn Cummins Diesel 6 speed
2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.7 Hemi

roger01

the 2G is located on the first line ....to the very right .....thanks for the breakdowns ....
the tag is very hard to rear but im pretty sure its a 2G ...is the 26 inch idea for the rad pssible on a fender tag ?

694spdRT

The 26 is typically on the far right on the 1st line from the top. It should be followed by END. If your car has a 26" radiator it will appear on the fender tag.

I  guess it must be a 26 in stead of a 2G ...my END is located on the top left on its own though...

That could be...it depends on how many total codes you have on the fender tag. You read the codes from starting left to right and going from bottom to top.

1969 Charger R/T 440 4 speed
1970 Charger 500 440 auto
