Charger RT

I have the original 440 and 4 speed. They have been out of the car for 28 years but I have them.

jeryst

Everything original in mine. I dont beat it, simply because I would have to pay someone a fortune
to pull it, rebuild it, then put it back in.

I'm not that mechanically inclined, and I've found that its more expensive if I do the work myself, so either way, I'm screwed. - lol

Highbanked Hauler

I  USED TO  :o back in the day but not now unless running at 110 mph for a few miles is flogging it :rotz:. I also put 86,000 on it myself so I have a different mindset.

My 73 still has the factory installed 400 4 bbl with 14k miles on it. I don't beat on it. I wouldn't say that I baby it either. (some might) I have yet to do a burnout in the 8 years I have owned it. I want to keep it as intact as possible

Have the origional 383 short block in the car but lost one of the heads installing seats on the rebuild. Its wearing Edelbrocks now.

GunMetal

Numbers match but that's about it. I do get on it from time to time(in a controlled environment :D).
73 SE with 2bbl 400/727 originally. Now roller 470 E heads.  Big fun!

Charger´69

Everything what goes broken can be fixed and I think it should broke if it can´t handle beating

I´ll drive my Charger just the way I feel, normally cruising nicely but sometimes that devil in my head makes me floor it and do some burnouts and that´s FUN  :D :D And I´m not afraid it, it should handle it. If it brokes, I´ll make it stronger  :shruggy: :D

Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

B5charger

Original 318, 904, and 8 1/4.  Only thing changed is the paint.  Been in the family since new.

chargerjy9

I'm not sure what the definition of a survivor is,I know that there are varying opinions.....

My 73 SE was bought in July 03 with less than 2800 miles. today it has 14 k. the only parts not original  (factory installed) to the car (other than some rebuilt issues) are shocks, mufflers, water pump, battery, ballast resistor, voltage regulator.  has orig paint, vinyl top and interior

Orig tires, wheels, hoses, belts, spark plugs were taken off the car,( saved of course)  and replaced with new stuff for reliablity sake.

69rtse4spd

Red 69 S.E. 383. 727. 8.750. still all original. Yellow 69 R/T S.E. 4-spd., dealer installed short block, I was told, (never looked yet) original 18 spline & 4.10 Dana still in. Q5 69 S.E. pulled the original 383 2-bbl. back in the late 70s & got took it to the junk yard  :coocoo:, tyranny's been beefed up & Dana put in it. The 70s motor is long gone, replaced by a 440, 727 gone, replaced with a stronger one & 8.750 housing could be original, never looked. The 8.750 will get replaced with the Dana soon anyway. I do pound on the 70 now & then when I drive, but if it breaks you just fix it or improve it & pound some more, cause its a Mopar baby. :2thumbs:.

69_500

Still the numbers matching motor in my 500. Nothing wrong with putting miles on an numbers matching engine. Nothing wrong with putting your foot into it every now and again either. Way I see it is they were built to be driven. :)

ChgrSteve67

All of my daily drivers still have the origional motors.

Too big of a pain in the ass to change them to match the Charger.

vancamp

still running the numbers 440, bit the original 4 barrel intake is mia it has a six pack set up on it right now.

bull

I'm pretty sure mine's the original engine although I don't have the bellhousing flange stamps. It's got the right date code though. Let me say it this way, I can't prove 100% it's the original engine but no one else can prove it isn't.

   I just got it back together from a professional rebuild.  I wont say i dont beat on it, but i dont drive with and egg between my foot and the pedal either..   :D   :coolgleamA:
Duh, then you'd get egg everywhere  :slap:

Troy

My Barracuda had the numbers engine but it was a 318 auto so even beating on it pretty hard wasn't all that impressive. None of the others have the original engine.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
