Hello all,

I'm going to replace my timing chain this weekend, I have a 1969 383 2bbl, I have NOT taken the cover off yet, want to get everything first. Now my question, Does my cam have 1 bolt or 3, or is there not a standard. I just ordered a cheap stock replacement from autozone......gonna rebuild the engine this winter, so a cheapo will do for now. But now after searching the forum, I'm not sire about the hole 1 or 3 bolt thing.

Thanks, JR

Without knowing if it's been rebuilt or not, A Stock BB Chrysler should have the ONE (1) bolt cam....

hmmm..... well, the person i bought it from, said it "was" rebuilt, but I no longer believe him! I drained the coolant out, looked like rusty water, I'm thinking the points distributor is original, though he did have the heads rebuilt last fall, I have the papers on that, plus the heads are freshly painted black. Thanks for setting that straight for me, that all BB came factory with a single bolt cam!!

Be careful with the word "ALL", the '70-'72 440 six-pak engines had the 3-bolt cam.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
