Qustion; I am working on my trunk, now cut out all the metal and I am riping up the rear sheetmetal -on the bumper braces that are welded to the body and I have not seen any one put these back in - I have made my own out of 12 gage , I just keep trying not to tear up any good metal  :shruggy: ???

I said that wrong ;the body metal is thinner at the rear and as I separate it from the bumper brace I tore up the pass side -is there an easier way ????

Not sure what you are asking. Are you removing the trunk floor *only* or several pieces from the rear of the car?

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Use a grinding wheel (carefully!). In the past I've used a chisel but the way those are welded in will make it difficult I think. It's easiest (for me) is to rough cut the rusty metal close to the other piece so you have room to work. Then you'll have an easier time getting a tool in there for the finer clean up.
