If the weather holds I may make out to the strip Saturday.  What pressure is best for street radials?  less or more or just leave 32 pounds in them and forget it?  Bob

generally less for a good hook, but pressure varies car to car.  I think I would start out at "street pressure" and lower it in 2-4 psi increments until it negatively affects your time and then bump it back up a little bit.  If I remember correctly back in the day on my 73, 25 psi was a pretty good pressure on the BFG's i was running at the time, but a friends ws6 trans am was running very well at 28 psi last summer.  Like I said, it varies depending on car, weather, track conditions, etc. etc.

Have Fun!
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

I agree with that, I tend to drop mine from street pressure depending on what seems to work.

Ok, I was being a wise ass.

Mine works well with 28 (with Cal Tracs). I'd estimate 24 with stock leaf springs.

Thanks for the replies guys!  Now if I can keep the rain away I'm good to go.   Bob

if you are running stock radials then you really dont want to drop the pressures. go with the manufacture's spec on the tires to start. then do a quick spin of the tires and check your rubber patch, obviously you want an even tread spin.  i hate going to the track watching people air their stock radials down to 8 and 10 psi thinking they are doing a good thing. airing down that low only works on bias ply slicks
