Anyone doing the Power Tour from CA?

Me and a couple friends are doing the REAL Long Haul. We are driving from Los Angeles to Iowa for the beginning of the tour, then we are doing the entire Power Tour and then driving back to LA from Mobile. I was just wondering if anyone here was planning on doing the trip and wanted to join us on the road.

NYCMille

What are the dates man... I just shipped the Charger to CA after doing the One Lap of America last week, but if I have the time, I'll run it again... screw it, you only live once right  :icon_smile_big:

KWS

We are leaving either June 1st or the 2nd. Gotta be in Iowa by the 5th. Power Tour ends in Mobile AL on the 12 and we would head home back to Los Angeles from there, possibly stopping in New Orleans on the way back.

If I get enough people together, I may be able to get Hot Rod magazine to send one of their guys along with us to document our journey.

TUFCAT

Wow, you cats know how to live :drool5:  VERY COOL. :icon_smile_cool:

The goal right now is to get the Xtreme Lee up and ready to roll, but the Duster is 100% ready to go in the event we can't get the XL ready. There's some electrical stuff we've been doing to the XL, and there's some paint repair that needs to be done after 6 years of show and go.

TheAutoArchaeologist

You're crazy... cool, but crazy.

Can't wait for Saturday night on Bourbon St. with the MoPower Tour though....

I'm thinking about trying to do the Springfield to Bowling Green legs. I have to see if I have a car to take though...

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Too bad you live in Ohio Troy, you could borrow one of my heaps. Least I could do for what you do for us.
Maybe another member can help you out though.  :2thumbs:
Sometimes living in Maine is like living in Greenland, just seems so far away from everything.

Have fun gang. I'd like to be doing some photography on that bad boy!!!
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

1970Moparmann

I'm doing the start through Wednesday and turning back...  Hopefully with the 68!  Back up plan will save me a lot of money in gas but will not have a cool factor. :brickwall:  Looking forward to seeing your car Kenny. :2thumbs:

Whomever goes, please sign up  for the MoPower Tour at http://www.totallyautoinc.com/ that way we can meet up.  Or atleast let me know, post a picture of your car up so I'll look for it when out there.  I'd like to meet some of the dodge charger group!

I know you'll all hate I'm taking a new car, but don't have any other choice.

What is the route from L A  to Iowa?   You guys swing thru Kansas maybe some of us here could meet up with you.

Might be a good time for a photo shoot of the Extreme Lee and Frankie!HAHAHAHA!

Not to hijack, Kenny, but speaking of photos of XT, I made a calendar of 2nd gen Chargers last year and have started collecting more pics for another calendar next year. Would I be able to talk you out of some hi-res pics of Xtreme Lee for the 2011 calendar I'm going to make? I'm not selling them commercially. I just wanted one for myself and then I sold probably 15-20 at cost plus shipping to some guys on this site. Of course you would have the same opportunity if you're at all interested.

I tried sending you a request for the last calendar I made but your PM inbox has been full for like, I don't know, two years.

KWS

Let me see what I can come up with. I had no idea my box was full!  :shruggy: :o Learn something new every day...

I'd love to see some more pictures of XL too. I'd also love to see more of the Duster considering the Duster bug has bit me pretty hard ;)

Just noticed something, Cody. If you traded that Coronet in on a 3rd gen Charger you'd have a poor-man's KWS collection. ;D

Anyway, thanks Kenny. Last Nov. I tried to find some pics of your car online but they were all too small to use.

I am game, let me know where it is.  Keeping it low-key would probably be the best this time due to KWS' popularity.  No need for crazy paparazzi being around.  Just local mopar nuts having a good time together.

Been working on the car everyday trying to get it road worthy to do the tour.   Crossing my fingers that on Tuesday I'll get it on the road for the first time since the restoration and work out any final bugs...  I will be on the tour, just not sure what I'll be driving yet.  I hope and plan on the 68 :2thumbs:.

I thought Todd Wilson had a huge following and was the reason for paparzzi in Kansas?...??   :shruggy:

Well I was thinking about that. The Chargers will draw enough attention and then if people see him and myself  it could get crazy.  :icon_smile_big:   Perhaps we could get him a beard and hat to wear.  Was just thinking maybe a meet up somewhere for a rest stop for them. Have some lunch or dinner and then those that wanted to continue to Iowa could then go and the rest of us head home. If they leave CA I assume they'd go the south route and maybe come up I35.

If this may be a do able deal  maybe a private message to one of us to confirm the stuff may be in order.

I plan on getting some sort of balloon and attaching it to my car so people can find it.  What kind, I don't know.  But some sort of Balloon.

Well things have changed recently.  I've been put in as the front man for the MoPower Tour.  All the events and planning is now in my hands.  I've gotten some events planned already, and we're fishing out the rest of them today and tomorrow.

Take a look at the links below for updates.
