I just bought this intake for my 400 engine build. Will this intake work OK? Just want to make sure I am on the right track. Al

Awesome! Thank you for the confirmation. :2thumbs: Al

We can't make a good judgment without more details.
Cam? Headers? Street/Strip car
If it's a street only car with stock everything; cam, manifolds, etc.. the Torker isn't the right manifold to run.

Here's a test on the different 383/400 manifolds:

Torker is on the last page:

So far only stock cam in my 400. I am looking to replace that as well. Al

its a mid-top end rpm intake, runs great on my 383, love it.

Update on my parts. I just picked up a Carter 9635SA Carb in fairly nice condtion, from a friend. Just wondering if anyone can see any problems with this combination. I think it is a pretty good match for the motor. Only thing is it has an electric choke and I'm not sure if I want this. Other thing I need is know where to connect everything on this new carb :scratchchin: Al

Not a problem per se, but if you are looking at things like a single plane intake and a cam swap and I am assuming other changes you may find that you will like the tunability of a Holley style better.

Talking low-deck Torker Intakes gives me goose-bumps and fond memories !

Waaay back in the Eighties, (before anybody knew about 451 engines/Low deck Strokers), I used to run an "Iron Headed 383" at the Strip.
Used to give the Bowtie crowd "Fits" !
I'd could run 10.70's N/A on a foot launch, go back in the Pits, lift off the Hood, and there it was !
A "Low-Deck Block", Iron Heads, and a lowly "Torker 383" Manifold on Top.
Other than the Headers, it looked as "Plain Jane" as they come !

Even on the Street(ahem, did I say that ?), blowing away Ferd & Cheb Guys, then lifting the Hood for them to leer "stunned" at the prominent "Torker 383" was SALT in the Wound !

Anybody wanna "see" Pics of a "max-Wedged" Torker383 Manifold ?
I still got it somewheres ?

The Only "Bitch" on the Low-Deck Torkers, is the "Pinch" in the port for the Intake Bolts,
But otherwise, Very Good Manifold !
Only wimps wear Bowties !

Very clever.  I for one, would love to see a pic.
