that looks like a fun weekend if you ask me. Be safe, keep the speed down and carry plenty of basic repair stuff just in case. Amazing what you can do with duct tape, electrical tape, rope and bailing wire. If it does crap out on ya, you can always write it off as a fun weekend. Be sure to take lots of pics of teh trip.

Jery

Thanks for your concern. As I have worked as a mechanic for allot of my life and I am having a mechanic friend pick up the car a full month before I go get it and make sure it is sound, I am not to worried. There will be new tires as well as several other things before we drive the car home. Don't worry. :)

Jeremy

I'm glad that you are a mechanic. That makes things a little different.
I've sold some old cars, and you wouldnt believe what some people will try to do.
I've had people expect to drive rusted out parts cars cross country when they
werent even capable of putting air in the tires.

Bull, sorry if my concern for a fellow member makes me a "Debbie Downer".

Apology accepted. :nana:

RD

i was just thinking.. put a charger front clip on that puppy, a rallye dash and a four speed :D  would be interesting.

The only things I'd be real concerned about is the "The brake pedal sticks and the steering has a lot of free play" part.  Looks like it could be a fun trip.

:o  Wow..that would make a nice swagger wagon  :2thumbs:  Got any more pics of it?  The pics in the link did not come up  :shruggy:

Now I think about it, you have to be logged in to seethe pics. I will post them all over here tonight when I get home. :)

Hey man, nice find there  :2thumbs:, you don't see those very much anymore.. well at least not around my neck of the woods that is.

jeryst

Man, for $400 bucks, that is a total GEM of a car. :2thumbs:

Thanks again for the kind words all. I am very excited about the car. I can't wait till it gets here. My friend Ross picked it up for me yesterday and from the sounds of it, I couldn't have gotten a better car.

The White Buffalo is one bad wagon. I have seen that video somewhere before. Sweet ride!

Moparmoy, I have heard from a few people that if it was more central, they would have bid on it. Honestly, I am glad it was where it was. :)

Brock, That is one bad wagon. I really like the C-barges. Not 100% on my plans as of yet. Right now the plan is to get it home. I will be flying up there towards the end of July to drive the beast home. I picked up some rally wheels for it yesterday and I am sending them up to help make it look a little better. :) I am honestly thinking of painting it flat black, put stock 15x7 front and 15x8 rear wheels in gloss black with 69-71 dog dish hub caps and white letter tires. Then maybe down the road, I will build a 440 for my six pack set up and put that in there.

Jery, again, I thank you for your concern. I have seen people try to drive something that shouldn't even be put on a trailer other than to take it to the scrap. Then when they do put it on the trailer, they don't strap it down.  :brickwall: scary to think there are people on the road like that.

Oldrock, I will be sending a box with plenty of tools up there so that they will be in the car when I get there. Any ideas on parts that I should bring? I hear balasts are a good idea??

Bull, always have to cause stress huh? lol :nana:

RD, No charger front clip. I personally think that the 71 coronet grille is very bad ass looking. I also think that the 71-3 Coronet wagons are about the most agresive looking wagons Mopar built. On the note of a 71 Grille, anyone have one??? :) I will be adding hood pins, ralley gauges, and a tuff wheel.

dpm68, Been hearing that allot lately. :)

Tilar. My friend Ross is going to find the problem and I will be getting that fixed before the trip.  :2thumbs:

Sky, I will be posting many more pics in just a moment. :)

Jim, Thanks! It is pretty sweet and I am glad that I finally have one.

Jery, Thanks again.

Pics will be coming up in just a moment.  :2thumbs:

hey, that one is in good shape! Get hoses, belts, spark plug wires and plugs along with some of that quick set epoxy stuff and of course duct tape, electrical tape, bailing wire and rope. Also a few wires with alligator clips are handy for temp wiring, etc. I'd also bring a grease gun and load up everything well before you start out and plan on stops every hour to check it out. Do a good inspection before you start and make sure all critical bolts, nuts, etc are tight before you start out. Then have a fun trip! That engine compartment looks nice and clean compared to most.

Looks great jeremy. Cant wait to see what ya do with her  :2thumbs:

Add to list small gas can, charger for cell phone, and good walking shoes...because if you bring them...you will never need them...

NICE..... :2thumbs:  if it was anywhere near me, i would have bought it.... i like picking stuff up that has been sitting for 20 years and driving it home. i try to do it once every couple of years. it is exciting. we drug a 66 fury out of a guys yard with my buddy's jeep. the two front wheels were locked up. paid him $50 dollars for it. it had been sitting in the same spot since 85 i think. anyway this was 2004 so almost 20 years. we put a set of wheels on it with good tires. while the wheels were off i took the brakes apart, honed the wheel cyls. took the master cyl off honed it out. put everything back together. put a starter on it. put a dealer plate on it. ( my boss has a car lot) and drove it 3 hours from harrisburg to pittsburgh..  did the same thing with a 59 t-bird 4 years later. i used to live in harrisburg..
