One man's "private museum" (TONS OF PICTURES!)

This past Saturday my wife and I had the pleasure of going to

check out a "friend of a friend's collection". We had heard a lot

about it, but had no idea what to expect. I'll leave details

(location, etc..) out of this picture story, but let me tell you,

from the second we crossed the threshhold into the driveway until

the second we drove out, my jaw was dropped.. I had never seen

bushes sculped perfectly into farm animals. Every detail of the

grounds were perfect. And that was just the beginning. Walking

into this man's garage, we see him sitting there taking a break

from working on a project (that was up on a center lift hydraulic

lift). It's something I'll have more pictures of some time soon.

Anyways, the words "Well, take them on the tour" were muttered and

off we went... Stepping through the doors into a part of history I

never thought I'd see in person.

I didn't know where to begin. I felt like a little kid walking

into one of the coolest places I had ever seen... I'll save the

shots of the toys, memorabilia and collectibles until the end..

The cars in this collection are the most amazing things. There

wasn't a flaw to be found. NOTHING was out of place and you want

to talk about rare? This was it... Lincoln heaven!!! The best

part? All were hooked up to Battery Tenders and all could be fired

right over and driven down the street.

I'm not going to caption every one of these pictures.. There isn't

enough time.. But I hope you can get an idea of the depth of the

magic and history this man posseses. A large part of this

collection was restored by Chuck & Blair over the years.

Due to reasons unknown to me I didn't get any shots of this entire

car... Probably because it was so gorgeous I didn't know where to

start.. 24K Gold outlined interior... emblems... hood release...

Moving on to the meat of the toys and collectibles.. Chuck has

restored a tremendous amount of these items. The detail, paint

quality and TIME that went into these made me leave thanking God

that this man had anything to do with my car..

Again, I won't caption every one of these.. I can't... but this

one stood out. It's an old pedal car mounted to the base from a

barber shop chair that Chuck found on someone's sidewalk one day

(out for the trash). He restored this from head to toe!

This one is cool, this is an actual bomb from WWII...

This is ONE OF ONE. Hand carved... Built from scratch!!!!

Here, we step into his "personal office"... AWESOME in there!!!

And, I saved the best for last!!

I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into the past as much as I did... It truely was a magical day and a "field trip" I'll never forget.. I hope to go back some day when the sun is shining so that I can get some good shots of the cars outside.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

man, I love all the photos, that place is right in my up my alley Jeff! I love places like that. When I was looking at the photos it took me back to where time was nice and people all got along. Thanks for sharing the lovely photos. It kinda took my mind off my slightly hurting head right now (got hit by a small tree branch).

Pretty cool collection. Always good to get to tour private things like that.  I could only hope to have a sealed heated place like that someday for all my stuff!

That camaro looked really out of place in there,.. that silver Lincoln is soooooo awesome... so are the other rides!! then I saw the camaro and it was like  :scratchchin: what dosen't fit in this picture...  I imagine he has other daily drivers which are cool too... maybe he got a great deal on the Chevy...  some of his taste seems to be "what's hot in the world of collectables 1997" rather then what I'd spend my dough on.. some pretty rare collectable models there... but only some of that stuff would I want. I want those Lincolns for sure though.. Makes me think you did a great job of capturing that stuff on film and posting it up... Thanks...

That guy could use a lot more room. I'd be afraid to turn around in there for fear of knocking something over. :o Pretty neat collection though. :2thumbs:

Kinda older stuff and by the age of the cars I am guessing the owner is in his late 60's. Not that it matters any, interesting collection, and it looks like he could use some help dusting.

You're welcome!! I couldn't visit a place like this and NOT take a million pictures... For many reasons, but the top two are sharing the pictures and the fact that my 18 second memory retention would make me miss out on a lot of details..  :brickwall:

If you guys ever get near the place I HIGHLY SUGGEST Harold Worp's Pioneer Village in Minden Nebraska.  The sheer size of this collection is amazing.

First, you get a car...then a diecast of the car...than a few enamel signs, some license plates. Pretty soon you're giving tours.
