The time is coming soon about three or four weeks and it will be primer time. A few more patchs to weld in and it's good to go. But today I got my new used hood and since I already had the front end on I figured I'd try it on.

That much closer.I have about 12 small patchs to do on the fenders, doors and truck lid then all the patch work is done. The main shell is now done, finished that this weekend.I also had to replace the torque bar crossmember, did that over the summer. There some pictures.I hope to have it blastered and painted by the end of the year.

Hi,I haven't updated it a wile, things have been moving slowly. The main shell is coming along must of has one coat of primer on the out side and the interior has been painted with por-15.I hope to have the whole car to the paint shop by the end of the year.I also have been working on some of the small parts, lower control arms ,pedal  and heater box. But man it can be a real pain in the butt getting rid of all the rust and stuff in the hard to get places. It makes me wonder how people are able to blast in the tight spots.

It went pretty good,no big problems. Once you get the old one out,it was easy.I drilled out all the spot weld. And then I used sheet metal screw's and c-clip to hold it in place, after that just weld it back in. I also took the old one out in pieces, that make it a little easier.

Here a few more pictures.....

Made some good headway this weekend.I got the engine bay all primed and the K memeber is painted. I finally got my sandblaster work preety good ,so I plan to finish the last small spot to blast this week. And the body filler will start to fly.

I'm really digging those lower control arms!!!  No it isn't exactly "correct" but it sure will look nice and clean when installed.  Where did you get it done?

Yes that's yellow zinc plating. After talking to a few people about the lower arm and I didn't like the idea of the waxy cosmoline coating.I had the ideas for using zinc plating. And since I work at a welding and machine shop and we send stuff out for plating all the time,I asked my boss if I could add them to an order. And the best part was since there wasn't enough parts to put us over the min charge I got them coated for free. :2thumbs: I know it's not 100% correct and my paint marks should have been brush on,but the like the finish part.

I love it and might consider doing it too.  Can't wait to see more progress photos.
