I got this note on my windshield

Has this ever happened to you? I had my Charger at work today. At the end of the day when I got back to the office, one of the guys tells me he saw some guy looking at my Charger, and the guy put a note on the windshield. I go get the note and it says: If you are interested in selling the Charger please call me, Scott, and he left his phone number. I am kind of flattered, and at the same time wonder how badly he may want it ($$), even though it is not for sale.

As a good Mopar friend has said, everything is for sale for the right price.   :2thumbs:   My brother in-law (passed away 5 years ago) restored a 70 RT and when we were at Mopar Nationals in 2002 a guy came up to him and said "How much?"  He said not for sale.  The guy said, well, I'm really interested in it and would offer a lot of money.  Paul took the number down and that night at dinner, asked me what to do.  I said I thought you didn't want to sell it?  He said, well I really don't but if the guy offers me a good amount, I can restore another Charger and have some money left over.  I told him to tell the guy $45k, again this was 8 years ago when his car was worth $30k probably.  The guy said ok, and Paul freaked out.  Paul decided not to take the deal, but regretted it 6 months later..... :shruggy:

Give me $75k for my 70 and it's yours!

Just smile and say thanks but no it isn't.

People with ridiculous money don't take no for an answer.

Call the guy that left the note and joke that he should have written the note on a fifty dollar bill.

Tell 'em you'd need at least $2500 and when they excitedly say "YES" say "ok", then drive away  :2thumbs:

We, Chuck and I, picked up my Charger at the sellers house and drove her around the corner to fill her up.
A dude in a pickup truck stopped Chuck and asked him if she was for sale and how much.

Chuck replied: ''we just bought her 5 minutes ago''  :icon_smile_big:

I had my 69 at a show, and this guy walks up and says, "did you buy this on Craigslist?" I said "why yes" so he starts going on about how he looked at it and how he could've bought it for $3K less....shortly thereafter I slapped him in front of his son.

I love red with white striped chargers.  I got asked at a light by a guy in a nice new pick up.  I thought for a second the fun I was having cruising and being asked by a guy in a nice new pick up if I wanted to sell it and said, no thanks I think Ill keep it.  He said I'm real serious, and I said no thanks and that was that.  No regrets as I still enjoy cruising in it.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I found a note on my '69 GL replica once. I was also asked if my '71 was for sale by a guy at a stoplight years ago. I have been asked numerous times at car shows and cruise nights over the last 10-15 years if I would sell. It is bound to happen some time. Our cars are just hard to resist. :icon_smile_big:

I keep thinking about calling the guy up and see how much he is willing to pay. But, if I sell it I will have to start all over again with another Mopar. I just got this one close to the way I want it. A/C back together, all gauges work, all electrical problems fixed, exhaust done with electric cut outs, engine tuned in, most of the squeeks and rattles eraticated. Multiple coats of Zaino. Do I really want to start over?

yep...used to happen a lot when the car was parked where it could be seen from a main road

once had 11 offers to buy it in a year  :eek2:

I get asked about every 3rd time I have one of the cars out (any of them). Of course, when I want to sell one it never comes up. Oddly enough, when I had my first 68 Charger in high school (mid-80s) it was the same way.

Wow! Beautiful car. Here's how I look at it and sleep well at night. I decline all the general offers and enjoy the ride until I'm done with it. It will always be a car in demand. They just are that beautiful. Of course unless someone walks up to you and gives a cash price and is serious and it is more than you feel it's worth, drive and enjoy.

There have been several left on my cars' windshields over the years but I've never called the people who left the notes.
Only one ever bugged me and it was some dentist from Mason City, IA hinting that he could afford to restore the car and take care of it properly.  Would like to have kicked him in the 'nads. :flame: :icon_smile_big:
