Have you other guys with Sublime/Limelight painted cars ever noticed bugs being attracted to the color.

In the last few weeks i have noticed that bees and little gnat type bugs sitting on my car. I havent ever noticed this with my other cars.

Maybe there isn't any difference, it's just the lighter color makes them more noticeable?

Or maybe the car looks more fruity with that color and the bugs think its food?  :D

When we were going to virginia  last year for the wing warriors meet , we stayed in louieville kentucky overnight.  I parked the trailer under the parking lot street lamp at the motel . So as to watch the car out the window of the motel room .   Went we came out in the morning the dew had killed like 500 bugs all over the car .   :yesnod: :yesnod:

My yellow Scamp has the same bug & bright paint issues too. Now I can sleep knowing that my car doesn't have the same odor attracting abilities as a pile of dung.

Although I am happy I don't have this problem......

A Bug's Life

Missing the roar of cicadas from a couple of summers ago? You might want to go out to Idaho, where another cyclical insect is swarming. But this one, the western spruce budworm, is threatening huge swaths of forests -- Douglas-fir, subalpine fir and lodgepole pine. This forest pest weakens older trees and kills the younger ones, and comes in a natural cycle of about every 25 to 30 years.

Check out the photos of below of spruce budworm moths, taken by Jeffrey Fidgen, a forest entomologist with the Idaho Department of Lands Bureau of Forestry Assistance. This was at a car dealership in Salmon, Idaho. He said forests in the upper two-thirds of Idaho could be affected.

(Note: I am partial to the West, having lived there more than 20 years before moving to Kentucky. I was made aware of the budworm moth photos by a western friend who recalled one drive I had across Montana during a plague of grasshoppers. During that trip, I had to stop frequently at car washes to blast the bugs out of my radiator, and engine, and grasshopper parts were coming out of my car's air vents for a couple of years. You gotta love nature.)

The 68 has never been touched.Sold new in Toronto and came off the road in 72 I have been told while trying to track its history. Some kid scored it early 80's it was seized solid and yanked the engine out and tried to but a wrecker unit in.Ran out of money let sit outside for two years. His old man wanted it out of the driveway.A friend tipped me off about it and I kept it inside ever since. When I come across a proper date coded 318 the restoration will start.
