Aluminum floor jacks. What you use?

Picked up one at Costco, and wasn't impressed at the weight, then picked one up at Schmuck's/O'Rilleys Auto Parts, with two jack stands in the box, and it was very light.  My steel jack has seen better days.  I noticed one of the arms was bent.  How did that happen?  A seal on the pump piston is popping out, and the thing leaks, so I guess it's time for an upgrade.  What brands have you guys used?

I took a chance a few years ago and bought one of those US General aluminum racing jacks at Harbor Freight and it has been very nice. I can lift one side of my 4,700 lb. Durango off the ground with it and rotate the tires. I think I paid around $89 for it on sale. Money well spent IMO.

I have had one of the Costco jacks here for about 2 years now...been very happy with it...no leaks, and it only takes one pump for the jack plate to touch the frame before lifting.

It's all aluminum and had 4 wheels on the corners instead of the one big roller bar up front

I've got a 2 ton "Crew Line" aluminum jack that was purchases from Sam's Club about five years ago. Don't see them at Sam's anymore, but I have have seen a duplicate at Harbor Freight.

The rubber pad on mine fell apart almost instantly. It leaks down. It has a few other quirks as well.

All that being said, I like the capacity vs weight. Much easier to handle than a comparable steel jack. If I'd take the time to install some new o-rings, it would be perfect.

I would like to find an ultra compact/lightweight unit to carry in the trunk of the Challenger. Be nice to have something prior to the Power Tour.

I bought the same as bull, harbor frieght had them for $69.  I was told it was half price.  I didn't think I needed it.  I have a big heavy 2.5 ton in the garage.  I put this one nder the back seat of the truck and it has come in handy many times.

Harbor Freight near my house has the U.S. General 4000lb capacity Rapid Pump low profile racing jack on sale right now at $139.99 listed as regularly $179.99.  I'd like to pick one up but, wasn't sure if it was worth it.  I like the low profile thing about it also.

I have one from Jegs and haven't had any problems with it in the three years I've had it.

My old trusty Japanese made Sears floor jack finally had a internal seal go.  I really like it and plan on trying to take it apart and fix it if I can.  It has a lift of 21 inches.  In the meantime, I picked up one of the Harbor Freight chinese 3 ton all steel jacks.  The lift on it is around 21 or 22 inches.  Lots of the jacks only lift 17 or 18 inches.  Particularly the aluminum ones.  The 3 ton was $60 on sale.  I bought a aluminum "racing" jack to carry to the junkyards.  Doesn't lift all that high but gets the job done.  I don't use that jack for anything else.  I don't think the new chinese 3 ton steel jack is as good as my old 30+ year old Japanese Sears floor jack but since I don't have time to fix the old one right now I went ahead and bought it.  Works OK just not as smooth as the old one and I don't like the jack handle.  Comes in two parts that don't fit together real good.  I need to weld them together but havn't had the time.

I have a 20 yr old 2 ton Hein-Werner. It never really worked right from the day it was new. It hasn't dropped a car on me yet though... :shruggy:

no aluminum jack but 2 steel snap on 2 ton jacks. I rebuilt both about 3 years ago for 50 bucks. I bought the first one in 83 and the second one by 90. Both good jucks. My son does most of the jacking around here. I might get an aluminum one when he moves out. He is 15 so he is still my slave for at least 3 more years. (Actually he is a good kid and wants to help.)
