Need your opinion on rims for roadrunner

I have a 73 roadrunner and I am not sure if I want to go with the set of Mirada rims I have or the original set of rallye rims with beauty rings and center caps.  You all know what the rallye rims look like, so here is a pic of the Mirada rims for comparison.  I will have the whole rim powder coated black with the "current" gray part between the spokes polished aluminum or chromed.

All opinions appreciated.

Personally, I'd go with the rallye wheels, but with the earlier style (round) center caps.

Mirada, about every Mopar from 1970 on up have rallye rims on them.

The Mirada ones are not a bad looking rim at all.  Be different and put those on.  :2thumbs:

I think those Mirada rims are worth a try - especially if you already have them.
Even "just cleaned up" might be good enough to give you an idea of whether you like it or not - if you do, then, spend the money on powder coating and polishing/chrome...

It would be different and might be a good conversation starter....

I am not a huge fan of the Rallyes unless they are 15" with the '70 centers so I would use the Mirada's.

being a little bit diff... Mirada

but if going with rallyes, would go with correct dated chromed cap ( that I like better than the round "Mexican hat" kind )

If it was a pink cuda , that is dean stallbaumers car out of centralia  ks.  He has a restoration shop there and restore alot of wing cars .

They do look great on that cuda , I first saw that car in 1985 at the second HPAC show . Loved those mirada wheels ever since .

stu, that is EXACTLY the car I saw.. I loved those rims and from then on needed a set.  Found this set in a junkyard in emporia kansas.  It was on a /6 mirada that was in good shape and complete.  I should have bought the whole car, but didnt have any place to put it, nor the money to start another project.  needless to say the car got crushed, but I got the rims for $100.

jaak

I have always liked those Mirada wheels, always wondered what they would look like on a Muscle car....they look great on that Cuda!
But on the other hand, you can never go wrong with Rallyes.
