by passing the amp guage,how do you know it worked?

after some cursing and a lot of beers,i have the whole wiring harness done under the dash,and i followed the mad electric diagram to by pass the amp guage.with out installing an aftermarket volt guage,is there a way to check to make sure the new alt,and wiring is working?i plan on installing a new volt guage,along with aftermarket oil pressure and water temp,just waiting until aftre the holidays

Does the car start?

If so, it worked!

All the current from the bulkhead connector passes through the ammeter.     Bypassing it by connecting the wires together from each leg of the ammeter completes the circuit.

If you want to check the charging system, hook a digital voltmeter across the battery terminals to check your charge rate.
