Maybe a Glimmer of hope for POS 440

Getting stone walled some what by Federal Mogul about the piston. Seems they don't think they should warranty piston sense I bought them from a person new and not a shop. Yet it looks new and is not right. Bottom line if they don't help, I will send them in court. Like the person I bought them from has a foundry and made one fake L22665F piston so he could sell the other 7.

Good news, well Mitch did call Mikes Machine shop that did the 440. Pet one of the owners spoke with Mitch and did say they did the work and I had it done right. I never bitched at them, long story. But after I got the E-mail I figured what the F?

I called Pet today and he asked me to pick up the pistons from J&J Machine Shop so he could look at them. Number 4 piston, the under sizes one is a .15 over piston which is not offred, rest are 30 as marked. Funny part number 4 that is a screw up was not the lightest one, number 6 was and was not cut when balanced?

Told me to pick up the POS 440 from J&J and haul it down and he will work with me. All so said there was not signs of over heating that could effect the skirts. Seems that maybe it will live again.

Best news I have had in 4 months so far. I really don't understand F M thinking on the piston. If it was made wrong, it was made wrong no matter where I got it from.

Mitch did E-mail me with his cell number, but it ws not a working number. We will see what happens.

Ken, I'd raise a CAM2 for you  , but there aren't any around here right now...will have one for you when I get home.  Hope things work out for you!  It would be a shame if things didn't given all the blood, sweat and tears you've put into your Charger!

Cheers,
Duey

It's the same sad story with just about anything now days, Ken. Few companies will stand behind their product without a big fight. It seems like they always want to blame everyone else and pass the buck. Rather than step up and take care of it now they have a bunch of guys on a Charger website very leery of their product. I hope they follow through for you.
