My car is a 68 H code with a 3.23 sure grip 8.75" rear end. What is the difference between my rear suspension and a R/T suspension? I know there is one additional leaf spring in the passenger side leaf but are the springs rated differently or anything else?

Thanks,

Lawrence

Yes, the rear springs are a heavier duty piece in the RT versus the standard suspension.  The RT also has larger brake drums.

Can someone tell me the specs between the leaf springs and also the size difference in the brake drums?

Thanks,

Mike DC

The R/T drums are 11" as opposed to 10" size.

The front springs were 0.92" diameter rather than 0.90" diameter.

The rear leafs were the 6-leaf setup (well, that was arrived at with a combination of half-leaves including staggering the right side a bit more), as opposed to a plain 4-leaf setup on both sides of the regular Chargers.

I think the shocks were different on the R/Ts too, although you're not likely to find anyone driving around on the originals these days either way.

Was it possible to get R/T drums as an option on an H code car?
