Old thread was old so here's a new one.

Over the last year or so I've been working on models for a 1/35 scale diorama of modern US armor and infantry for some OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) dioramas and vignettes. To my delight I finally was able to get hold of some Verlinden and Trumpeter US infantry that are correct in terms of equipment, body armor and weapons to add to the ever-growing pile of projects.

Some of these figures are straight from the box, but many are kitbashed from several sources and nearly all will have some custom work done. I also found ACU pattern decal sheet for 2005 and up uniforms. It takes a ton of work to apply but the results so far have been great.

Each figure takes about 15 -20 hours of work, and I have about 16 of them to build. I'm still working on my other vehicles but I will eventually have a couple Humvees, a Stryker and a couple of M113s as well.

I also finally found the time to finish a kit I bought several years ago on a whim. This is a 1/32 scale Storch observation plane used by Germany in WWII. I painted it in the African campaign camouflage.

Wow! Nice work! Love the Storch!!!!! :yesnod:

I've been collecting models for several years now, cars, ships, tanks, planes............mostly wwII stuff.

Would love to see more of your builds.

I'll share some of mine.....

I built the Stuka in 1982, I was 13 or 14 at the time. She's very brittle and dusty (hangs from the ceiling in a perpetual dive)

The P-38 I got a Christmas present around 1980........I was way to intimidated to build it at 12 years old!  :pity: Around 2005 I started to put it together , everything was still in the box! She also hangs over my head clearing the skies of Zeros and 109's.

I built tons of Balsa's back in the day, Triplanes, Sopwiths, p-47's, p-51's, Spitfires, Hellcats...... and all the famous planes of WWII that they made kits for. These are the only two to survive. :'(

I LOVE that Guillows P38 - I got one from my uncle years ago, but it didn't survive the move. :(
