Guys and gals, as you know I was offline for two weeks and before that for 1 week also almost. Well I I didn't notice the sites I was checks out all the time that one site had virus hitting peoples pc's mostly dells. Well I had a Dell both times and both times I went to one site besides coming to this site which is kinda my online home and kinda like the tv show "Cheers" where you go and evberyone knows your name LOL. Well anyways, I found out today that the virus I had both times that both times crashed my pc came from Facebook! The virus gave no warning that it was on the pc until was to late.

Well last night I went from here to facebook and sign in and afew seconds later I had a warning of a virus attack trying o get in my pc here, just lucky I didn't have another, this time the virus was detected by the pc and the pc warn me. I couldn't shut the pc down as that is when the virus does the most damage is on reboot! It takes out the system folder first which is what happen to me "Both Times" and by taking that folder out the system will not start at ALL! so I had to keep the system here running and not let it restart. I got the issue last night taken care of it looks like. But I am not going to be useing Facebook very much anymore and wanted to past the word around before others gets hit like I did. I found out today that afew of my other friends out town is also offline due to the same issue and they just started useing Facebook like a week ago and now they're system is done. There pc's didn't detect the virus either until it was to late and like I did they rebooted there systems and all heck broke loose on them to.

I was getting viruses from some forums and sites (legit sites) getting on from pop ups that pay the site to advertise,  using a malicious code without the sites knowledge. The one thing I did that cured that immediately was dump Internet Explorer and switch to Firefox. I also got rid of the freeware anti-virus and went back to Norton, but as a backup.

Same here. Make sure you go to your privacy settings and change them to make sure no one else can get to your information.

I use Firefox and I still got tagged with that virus. The kinda that doesnt let any programs run and all you get is a pop up of a fake scan and a prompt asking you to buy their anti-spyware program. I know it was moparts because it happend to a bunch of other people there too on the same day. Luckily I have a buddy that's an IT guy and he came over to fix my comp.

I had some stuff that spybot would not remove.  The malewarebytes and SUPERantispyware did the job for free.

if you want a good program to use get Microsoft Security Essentials. That is a very good program that I have found out, it so far caught 35 virus so far that tried to hit my system and removed them fast. The visrus was real bad ones also.

I have a program called M.S.E and dang is that a good program! caught at least 10 virus already before they even got to my hard driver and caught afew virus that a program within my system had made! Instead of this program doing like alot of others try and take out all the stuff at once. This program took out each one at a time!  :yesnod: :yesnod: :2thumbs:
