Does anyone know the size off hand of the pressure fitting in a mopar steering box ?   I need to get an adapter to go to -6AN but am unsure of the thread- I am 99% sure it uses a copper washer to seal...

Is it 5/8-18 inverted flair ?

I just had mine off ('66)...it was definitely a straight cut thread with copper washer going into the box, not sure of the size, maybe 1/4". I don't think it was as big as 5/8". The end that connected to the hose actually looked like -6 AN but I'm not positive. Here's some fittings for Mopar http://www.bouchillonperformance.com/BPE9016F.asp but I think it's to adapt to a Saginaw pump. They probably know where to get the one you need.

Sorry, not much help...

Well i might have to do this the old fashioned way  -   guess i'll just stop being lazy and go pull mine off and match it up...       the factory flare is not an AN - it is a regular flair fitting with a 45* angle...     AN fittings use a 37* angle....      :2thumbs:

The threads in the steering box valve are 1/2"-20 which is the same size as AN5, so you need an AN5-AN6 reducer which is AN919-7.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks John!

The 1/4" did not seem correct to me because no one makes such a fitting   haha

-6AN to 1/2-20 is easy - it should be an inverted flare fitting though and still use a copper washer...     now that I know this I can order my fittings to get my P/S plumbed up...

Thanks Again!!
