Headlight bezels?

i have these on my 68 Charger, but i see a lot of cars without them. Was this a option, is it 68 only? What's the story behind this bezels?

I always thought the 69's should have had them too. If I had an extra set they would be on it.

They're visible in some photos printed in the 1969 Charger catalog.  I thought they'd be a nice touch too, but the beancounters probably thought differently.

It's kinda a useless part unless your headlight doors are open in the daytime.
Tough to see them with the lights on.

Thats why I can't find any...the 69 guys keep stealing them! Give them back!

I bought my grille without them and I don't really care for them. I won't drive with headlight doors open anyways. And at night nobody really cares

Wondering if they would clear the doors on a 70?

They came with my 69 when I got it.  I like them.  Although, they really don't get seen very much.  They don't match the 70 grille.
