Anyone notice how the Audi Quattro and the Shelby Charger look so similar?

From the stables of the greatest European Rally car ever, we have the road going version and ....
What's this, ... a FWD Shelby Charger,  and do my eyes deceive me, but does it look like they were drafted from the same pencil?

I dunno...they do look similar, but if you look at most of those small "sports cars" of the 80's (Supra, 300Zx, MR2, Nissan Sentra XE (the 'sporty' version) etc.) it seems like that very angular, triangle/pyramid based design was part of the design trends of the day.

They both look like Inspector Gadget's car to me... :shruggy:

Car styling folks all play follow the leader.   Most don't have a single original idea in their head since the last masterpiece was created in 1969 ... aka: the 69 Charger  :icon_smile_big:

There is (about 99.99% positive) nothing that interchanges from a audi to a omni platform.

Sharp edges and boxes were big in the 80's.    I'm sure if you looked further you'd find more that sorta looked like the same thing also.

Was at the NYIAS the other week...  all the furrin sports cars look almost the same.    Blob of clay with 4 wheels.
