Honestly, if it is just U-joints that you are missing from your driveshaft, I would just get more and write them off.  If you do get them back from your ex-friend, they always make good spares!

Actually, I was just referring to the driveshaft to just get it mobile.  The gauges and wiring and such you can "do a temporary fix" to get it so it moves under its own power at least again.

Please!! I can't take the car 5 frickin miles without it breaking.. And even if it WAS going to be a reliable car, at 2 MPG it'd cost me about $1653 one-way  :smilielol:

Interesting that it does not sound like a lot left to do.

Wonder why he just didn't knock it out and get your car out of his way.

Every time I have dealt with a shop, space was alway a premimum and they wanted the cars out asap.
Was your Charger being stored outside?

I'm not looking for a excuse for his actions I'm just nosy.

HITMAN 149

yea it was mostley outside!! grrrrrr :flame:

yea it's realllly not alot left... just some tedious stuff.. like lil motor/detail things....

Damn didnt realize the show was coming up already. Next week eh?

Yep Jeff i give hitman the heads up about the shop...seems im the only one who drives that damn far eh? Thankfully no problems with the car on any trip. Atleast nothing that couldnt have been fixed on the side of the road. Only 2 issues, one was with the damn front U-Joint failing and causing the tranny seal to come out. Some hammering and gentle throttle the rest of the way home wound up being all it needed, and on one other trip had a spark plug wire fall on the exhaust manifold, luckily i keep spares in the trunk...few burned knuckles and i was back on the road again.

hahaha yea brian.... but yours runs!!!! lol

Just remember, the car you see in the pic never always was in that condition.  It took me 8+ years with doing a little at a time.  First and foremost was that I got a car that had a great body on it.  Then had the engine redone in 2001 which was not planned.  Following year tackled something else big.  Just kept chipping away at the project till I got to a point where I started running out of things to do and then decided to start on the  finer details like inspection marks and stampings and such.

Well, he could have done a lot to destroy the car, but he didnt. And he also delivered to you at his expense, so maybe that was his way of apologizing for his actions.
Maybe he's just been having a bad time with something and it just got the better of him. Stress can really freak some people out.

Just remember that you can get more flies with honey than vinegar. When you call him, be cordial. Thank him for bringing the car back to you, and ask him if you can
stop by and pick up the rest of your stuff. If you piss him off, he can always just trash it. Also, if he offered to work on the car at your place, make every attempt to
let him do so. That will be a true test of where he stands. Maybe you can recoup some of your money. You can always tell him to get lost after you get some work
out of him. Or maybe you guys will patch things up and be friends again. Who knows! I'm sure the friendship would be different from now on, and I wouldnt want to
count on him, but at least you now know that there are boundaries, and he still might be a source of information/advice, or someone just to talk to.

But it's still your choice.
