I just bought a '68 pickup with 318-2bbl. I've searched around and can't find any clear information with regard to 318/340/360 port sizes and interchangeability. I see lots of recommendations for '302' castings, but I understand they have larger ports...

What's the deal? Who makes a 318-port sized manifold? What years interchange with no crazy effort?
What years have the best stock exhaust manifolds?

This thing is a truck, I'm not going racing, just looking to make it a little better...just in case.

Are you talking about intake or exhaust ports?

The intake runners on cast '302's are the smaller 318 size.  Here is something I posted showing my home port matching job to fit an Air Gap manifold with 340/360 intake runners to a pair of 302s.

Hope this helps.

If you're looking just to bolt something on without much effort, get an Eddy RPM.  They have the smaller runners that will match right up.  Good manifold too.

Thanks!

I want to keep the 318 sized ports, I may even keep the 2-bbl manifold. Certainly I'll keep the manifold exhaust though it'll get duals.

I prefer my street rides...sleepy. Can't get very sleepy with a big-block Charger, but this truck is a '68 Camper special, 4-speed w/4.10 rear. I'z thinkin' maybe slip in a 833 tranny and xe256h cam, those 302 heads and a big Holley 2-barrel...

I had to buy the truck because it's the same year as the Charger and has the same interior color; I'll probably 2-tone it blue and silver. It'll make a nice pair.

That truck is sweet! I'm eyeing one just like that close to my house. With that setup, it won't feed the 318 a lot but it will feed it quickly.  Should have some good pep.

Keep us updated on progress.
