Best method of swedging studs into hub?

I'm replacing the front drums on my '69 Bee, and was wondering what the best method for swedging the new studs into the drum would be? I have a couple ideas in mind but I'm interested suggestions from anyone that has done this procedure with good results.  Anyone?

I had my local shop press them in rather than pounding with a hammer!  :2thumbs:

I can press them in. What I'm talking about is the actual swedging of the shoulder of the stud on the inside once the studs, hub, and drum are assembled.    It's the swedging that holds the drum to the hub.  Know what I mean?

But once the wheel is on and the lug nuts tighten, does it really matter since it will hold the drum tight to the hub?

The swaging takes a special tool, you'll have to find an automotive machine shop that has the capability.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

It just expands the stud tight in the hub to drum sandwich to hold them tightly together.

Thanks for the input guys. I fashioned a tool that allowed me to do the swedging of the studs into the drum, but I found a problem with the new CENTRIC drums I purchased. The opening in the center of these new drums where the hub slips through is almost a quarter of an inch larger than the originals! Originals=snug fit.  New replacements=very sloppy. Funny thing is when comparing the new to the old this is the only measurement I didn't check.   :brickwall: :brickwall:  I haven't seen this before and it didn't even occur to me to check.  ::)  So I'll have the originals turned, install new studs and put them back on the car for the time being.
And hopefully get my money back on the new ones.
Funny how some of these tasks that should be easy and require little time turn into a pain in the butt.  Nice going CENTRIC!!!!
