do you need a weighted torque converter to mate up to a 904 or 727 that is behind a 360 as I haven't seen one yet?

dunno about the 727, but for a 360/904 combo you need a flexplate. B&M makes it (i forget the part number). I actually have a brand new one laying around somewhere.

Word is B&M has discontinued the 904/360 external weighted flexplate, the 727/360 is still available under P/N 10236.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

So its the flexplate itself, not the converter that I would need. The reason I ask is I have the 727  that was behind the 360 and the flex plate has been cut away  in a half moon shape and I thought it was so the converter would fit up to it. Judging from that it must be the wrong plate as this 727 had a 318 in front of it originally.(from an 81 van). From the part # each trans has its own plate? Thanks.
