I'm trying to find a set of 3.23's for my 8-3/4 rearend (489 type).  NO ONE makes them.  Any clues as to where to get a set?

Many thanks.

This forum is amazing.

Tan Top: Thanks muchly!

Everyone else: I have 3.55's in there now and it just revs too high for me since just about everywhere I go is on the freeway.  I'd also like to get it back to stock ratios.

I looked at a lot of places and it SEEMED the lowest available was 3.55's.  I'm not the brightest bulb sometimes...  ::)

Richmond and others only go down to 3.55s.

Used 3.23s are pretty common, and until recently, NOS sets could be found, so there isn't much demand for them. It's only recently that they have become available again.

What engine and transmission do you have? If you do all freeway driving you might be able to get away with a set of 2:76s in a chuck all setup and keep your other set for a spare. That's what will be in my 68 when its done.

If you are within a few hours of Central Ohio, would you desire to trade pumpkins or the complete rears? I have a spare 489 8.75" 3.23 SG sitting on my garage floor and would trade for a 3.55 SG, as I have an OD 833 for my car.
