Back in November my charger got in an accident. I had taken it to Muscle Nation Auto Body and Fabrication in Madison Ohio. The guy had it for 3 months and did not do any work to it. The only work that had been done is what i had done to it. A few days ago i went to go get the car out so i could work on the car myself, and he wont release the car. He says that the insurance company still owes him money. Now i am taking him to court to get the car back and the money he stole from the insurance company. He got a check for over $3400 to fix the car and the only thing he has to show that he bought for the car is fenders and a hood which are fiberglass and cost $680. This is a warning to all car enthusiast's around the NE Ohio area. Stay away from Muscle Nation in Madison Ohio!!!!

Good luck on getting your car back, I hate thieves that hide behind a so called business.
I used to own a mopar because it was different, but now I know better.

that stuff is between him and the insurance company, not you.  he received adequate compensation for no work done, so he can take a flying leap for all i care.  I would call the cops and get them involved to get your car back.

As if living in Ohio wasn't bad enough...one more reason my cars body work still needs done. I just can't bring myself to trust anyone. I tried it the first time & now want it done right as their are two full quarter panels that need replaced.

Does your car run/drive? If so, I would go and get your car.   Don't do anything violent, or make physical threats against him, just jump in your car and drive it off, if possible. I can't see how the cops could do anything, since it is YOUR car.

Yeah the car runs and drives just fine it just has no front clip, when i went there to pick up the car that friday i had a bunch of my buddies with me and just me and my parents went in the shop to get my car back. as soon as i asked for it back he ordered us outta his shop. my mom called the police and i called my lawyer. the police showed up and said that they couldnt do anything about this matter because its a civil dispute. and my lawyer said that we will have to go to court....

You know what they say about possession and ownership. Have your insurance company take care of this idiot immediately. Do not try to take the car or you'll likely get arrested. The business has rights in the eyes of the police so you are the bad guy (at least as long as your car is in their shop).

Did you sign a repair order or an authorization  of some sort?  I can only go by my experience as a body shop manager in Mass. Once you sign a repair order the car falls under a Mechanics Lien  and that gives the shop legal leverage  about releasing the car without payment but has nothing to do with quality or time. Unfortunately it doesn't help you with the quality of the repair. The Ins. Co. MAY be able to help you with a fraud situation but that is unlikely because he can say he is still working on the car. I think your lawyer is right that you will have to go to court. This situation sucks for sure when people don't live up to their word.

I don't get it.  What is his issue if he received full payment without doing all the work.  It seems to me that he is the one that should be sued here.  There must be more to this.  Right?  What am I missing.  Bob

What is the insurance companies response to the statement that "No work has been done on the car".
