for a 68 charger RT  ac  , power windows, headrests, console . All original minus the motor.solid car , complete car, need restoration.never been restored...

Tilar

Thats a hard one. My 68 was originally a 318 with a 3 speed on the column.  In the last 24 years I've spent a ton of money to get all the stuff to add everything you've mentioned other than the headrests which it already has.

To date I have close to 18k in it and all I've managed to do is remove the seats and the wore out 400 that someone installed. On a good note I could probably get it into primer and ready to paint with what I have in storage and a lot of labor.

What is the color combination?  Is there a b'cast & fender tag?

komninon

it has all the paper work. i do not have any pictures.

surmanajaja

so take pics. anyway, even pics cant tell as much as seeing in person. does it have any rust, ..I would pay anything between 5-10 000 depending on condition.

komninon

it is under 10,000 looks solid.

There is something to be said for one not worked on previously, mine lost allot of details in it's 8 year tour as a drag racer.  :scratchchin:

I was thinking $10K max, but it would have to a nice colour combo, etc. I personally am looking for one with air and pw, but then I would pay more than a flipper/bodyshop might pay for one. Realistically, you need to get the car for under $5k, but that's hard to do Moparland. It's just that you will never be able to restore it for less than the price of buying a done one, unless you get the car cheap. It's always better to get a done one and let someone else lose the time and the money...

komninon

the color is   RR1 Burgundy
is that color rare?

Charger-Bodie

If you dont end up buying the car,I would appriciate the info. My dad is looking for a Charger.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

komninon

original color was 331 orange/red  not rr1 burgundy.
the owner says it is very rare, because only a few late chargers in 68 had this color. in 69 this color was standard.
is this true?

Troy

331 is very rare since it was a mid-year color. I think I know of maybe 3 or 4. The head rests and power windows are very rare too so if you combine all 3 that's a pretty special car.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

i am not going to buy this car. go see the car in person if you are interested.
if you want to see the car go to     craigs look  type 1968 dodge charger it was listed 5 days ago.
looks very solid on the pictures, but it is not....  needs both quarters , full trunk, missing one fender , missing fender tag, has no headrests, needs windshield, and rust repair here and there. i am sure i forget something. you can contact the seller at        stevechicagoan@yahoo.com

That ad is really something else! He goes on and on about how special the car is, how to fix things on it, where to buy parts, blah, blah, blah, then near the end more or less tells the reader he'd better hurry because he (the owner) may change his mind and keep the car.  ::)
