Gday Mate!

Sorry I could not resist...I am sure you get that a lot.  Good friends of mine are from New Zealand and my grandfather did some time in your neck of the woods a few decades ago.

Glad to here your doing a trip around the country.

If your in the midwest near the end of the month here's the decent shows/swaps worth checking.

1.  April 18th - Larry Roesch Chrysler Show & Swap in Elmhurst, Illinois, at Larry Roesch Chrysler, Dodge, & Jeep
2.  April 24th & 25th - Spring Jefferson Show & Swap in JEfferson County, Wisconsin,  http://www.madisonclassics.com/ (I highly recommend a trip to Jefferson for anyone really.  It is an all makes show, but the size and range of products and services are impressive)

If your near me your always welcome to swing by and shoot the breeze.  Always love talking 3rd gen chargers and theres quite a few in our area.

If you are interested in buying you definitely want to make sure the car has a title to it.  It is a physical document that the owner must sign in order to turn over to a new owner.  It is usually very official looking like a license and has a watermark from where ever state the title is held.  It will have the VIN of the vehicle and the current owner info usually typed on the title.  Some states are not as strict about titles and will allow a bill of sale for a transfer of ownership.  It then depends on your home country in how that is handled.  I do know that Wisconsin will not even talk to you if you do not have a valid title so it is very important.  There are some services offered out there that are able to get a title with just a bill of sale, but I can not comment further as I have never had to use one.

Good luck to you mate and I hope you enjoy your visit!

Just the info I was looking for thanks, and thanks for the tips about the car shows etc I will try and fit them into the wife's itinerary.

There's a huge 4 day show/swap meet in Charlotte NC at Charlotte Motor Speedway next week, April 8-11. I'll be there on Friday. There's a fair representation of Mopars, but mostly Chevy and Ford. There's an auction too.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately we will still be in Vegas, Phoenix area at that time.
Hopefully after Vegas I still have money to buy a car (LOL)

Y'know.....now is probably the right time for me to order a front chin spoiler and get someone - who's visiting the States right about now - to get it shipped back for me.......... :scratchchin:  :D

If you'll be in Southern Ca for a time, here is the best site to check out the local shows/cruise nights. Just mapquest your location to the show location to determine if they are close or to far away.

The Corona Del Mar Good Guys Show is next weekend if you'll be in town.

Welcome! I'm taking the 3rd week in April off, if you're in the Portland, Oregon area around this time it's the peak of the Spring Chinook salmon run and you can catch them right downtown Portland. I have a boat so feel free to tag along!

this website should tell you all you need to know about importing. you can get import approval online while over there. no car pre 89 can be refused so buy away and make sure you get a title in your hand before paying. pretty simple. I did it once but forget all the other ins and outs
