After exchanging emails and phone calls for a week and sending approx. 300 pictures and hours of video, I sealed the deal with a guy named Graham Shiell from Australia. His web site is http://www.americanmusclecars.com.au/

Good bye Charger, I had 8 years of fun.

Did you give a plug about this site? Did you ask his intentions with the car? Would be cool to see him here so we al can see what he does with it.

Well, congrats!
Was this guy one of the bidders from your eGouge auction, or from another spot?

I'd sure hate to part with mine & I haven't even driven it in 12 years! ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I think his intentions are to sell the car for a profit - check out his site.

Well, you finally got it sold ! Congrats.

Wont the steering wheel be on the wrong side for our Fosters drinking buddies down there? :icon_smile_big:

Congratulations Jim.
Was it the exposure of being on ebay that sold it?  My Bee went to Austrailia with no problems whatsoever.  Very nice mate.  He offered a couple grand more than what the auction ended at!  American muscle is hot over there right now.
Will you have any go-fast parts, b body stuff for sale or will they be used for your next toy?  Kudos for not cutting the green machine up!!!

So what is the next toy?  Building one or buying one done?

May I suggest a '68 Barracuda for your next drag car? :yesnod:

I have to say that I completely agree with bull on this one. 67-69 Barracudas are still easy to find and IMO have more personality than a Dart. Hey, Darts are cool in their own right...I'd own one, but I'd look for a Barracuda first. Whatever you choose, keep us posted on your next project...and stick around.

Oh man, I really thought you would keep her. Being an ex-dragracer though, I know what its like. Always trying to go faster and faster, its neverending!
Good luck on your next project.

A pitty you can't keep her. It is/was a killer car.
Good luck with your next 'rocket' -project  ;D

Big Mistake....this is one you'll regret in the future ! Selling a car that nice just to go faster in something lighter is silly. Once you've made a few 10sec passes it'll feel normal. The when you've run some high nines you'll get used to that and it won't be any big deal. As they say the chase is better than the catch.   ;)

Unfortunately you'll be out a very nice car while chasing the "big dream" and you'll come to regret it. :image_294343: It's not my car but if i had the speedbug then i would've built a big inch motor for it or better yet looked around for an a-body roller and transplanted the drivetrain. :Twocents:

Here's a 3900lb all steel 68r/t running 9.80's...all motor, full interior, caltracs/monoleafs and stock wheel tubs. It can be done !

Big Mistake,,,

I don't think you know Jim...  This guy did some "weight loss" to his car for racing, then was such a Serious Racer, he did some "weight loss" off of himself also, all just to go faster :)

493, I'm still looking for a car for you man...  I'll shoot you some pix of that one sometime soon...

Mefirst

Im with Ron here. I think it was sad that you sold the Charger. You could have made her go fast.. I respect a guy more that builds a big inch engine and drops it into an almost full weight "street" car and does the 1/4 mile in 10sec, than someone who drives a tubbed out, tube chassies fiberglass body car that weighs about the same as a paperclip going at 8sec down the track...

...but then again you do as you like, I just hope youll be happy with the next car.. but what ever that car is, its wont be as cool as the green beast you sold...

My :Twocents:
