I think it is a little bit funny that you guys will spend years restoring these cars and love it at the end result, but a couple of hours cleaning them is a chore. Look at it this way, cleaning them is like a mini restoration, after it is done enjoy it. These cars are a passion for a lot of people. A friend of mine details his "daily driver" every week whether it needs it or not and loves it. Maybe some of you guys are not the MOPAR fanatics I thought you were   :nana:  :stirthepot: (please don't take offence to the last comment, it's just my sense of humour and not an attack)
Make it idiot proof, and somebody will make a better idiot!

Oh I don't know . . . here is Michigan, we are completely surrounded by huge bodies of fresh water.  The storms cross over them, pick up half the lake and dump it on us.  Can get pretty serious.
And we're directly east of you.  We get what you got 24 hours ago except now it has come over Lake Ontario as well and picked up more.  Funny, I use the phrase "lake effect" and people not from around here say "wuts that?"

Highbanked Hauler

I used to be in Mass. and occasionally  we would get the left overs from the "lake effect snow"

I have put 17K on my car since the rebuild and  I have been caught in the rain numerous times, not by choice but it happens

It's not that I'm opposed to cleaning my car IF I get stuck in the rain. My point is that I won't go out in it KNOWING it's going to rain. Driving for 3 minutes in a driving rain can un-do HOURS of detailing.. Take the other night for instance.. I cleaned for hours and got stuck in (literally) a 30 second downpour. Everything was splattered.. Loads of fun for a 30 second cruise..

The Charger has been my daily driver for the past couple months, and needless to say, it rains everyday in Tallahassee during the summer.
Oh man, is that your Charger in your signature line? Oh...that's gotta be painful.  :icon_smile_blackeye: That's a gorgeous car.

Yeah, that's it in the sig.  The car isn't perfect.  I plan on holding on to it for a long, long while and have a whole life to restore it and make it the way I want.  Until that day comes, I'm going to drive the wheels off of it.
