The color shows up well on my monitor in the pic showing the radiator support and hood latch assembly.   It looks like a mix of dark green and brown, how that is Dark Gold is beyond me.   Just my opinion, but it reminds me of a utilty type color, kind of like "work bench gray" or "UPS brown".

i thought all 72 rallye chargers just had bulge hoods no louvers or ramcharger scoops? like this one-MATT

That 72 Rallye was my brothers car from 97 to 2003!!

What a surprise seeing it on this thread.

Well the artical that I remember reading on this car was saying it was one of the very few "V" code sixpak cars with Ramair and 4spd.  Now if they were lying or not.... who knows!!  And as for what the color is....I really don't remember the color code....but it does look like a tawny green color!

PS.  The dash "IS" cracked because it is supposed to be all original....not restored!  Looks original to me!   :shruggy:

There is a thread at moparts discussing the color GY9 where the owner of that "V code car" says it is actually a 400 4 speed car...  it's still a beautiful ride!

THE CHARGER PUNK

after seeing al these cars it is making me like 3rd gens more and more maybe i buy one instead of a 68 or 69 and save sum $$$ but still make a fast muscle car-MAT

Was gonna post the exact question as the OP, then found this thead, so why not a bump after nearly 14 years.

Anyone have an original 72 Charger N96 car that had the 71 style vents, or did it have the gap in the middle?

" the 1972 chargers have a small plain space with no louvers about 2” wide between the louvers." >>>>>>>>That does not make any sense.
No 72 hood had louvers. Period.

RallyeMike

He means the vent intake louvers, but I thought that was obvious considering the subject is ram charge hood, not louvered hood.
