Questions for the vets again. I drool over the create engines in the mopar magizens like every one else. But they want 6,000 for the one I like it had like 465 hp. This rebuild crate engine is half the money and still has 420 hp. Has anybody heard bad or good about this company. It just sounds to good to be true and will a 440 GTX work with a 1969 dodge charger i was thinking i can buy conversion kits for motor mounts my car had a 383 in it oginally. Here is a link and the specs on the 440 GTX engine

I have no experience with this Company, Good or Bad ?
That said,
it looks like an assembled "Long Block" configuration ?

Are there any "Core" charges, or is the Engine sold "outright" ?

My gut feeling is, that you get "What you pay for", and this is a pretty "basic rebuild", with "rebuilder" style Pistons & Parts ?
Nonetheless,
Thats what the Market wants, thats exactly what the market gets, and Good Luck on the 420 hp.

There is a core charge added to that price I just want a 440 engine hopefully nexy year trying to do my homwork now so when my body gets done this year i will have a good engine and tranny next. Do you think 420 hp is not enough power thats just the block with out headers or standard tranny up for input want to but a engine and tranny package once next year and not have to wish i did somwthing else tks

Thats up to what you want, if "420hp is Enough" ?

I just doubt you'll even see 420hp out of THAT Engine, with the 'Rebuilder' style Pistons ?

If they had anything to "Brag" about partwise, in the way of an aftermarket Piston, I'm pretty sure they would !
That said,
They AREN'T,
therefore,
I'm assuming they are using the 'rebuilder' low-pop Slugs, which depending upon whats done, (which probably isn't too much considering the price), means it'll be around 7.8:1 Comp Ratio.
Engines with that low a C.R., generally, are pretty much "Terds" !

Good luck on the 420hp, I doubt it even comes close.

"Salesmans Bluster" is the actual Legal term, whereby they can SAY whatever they want,
BUT,
It's still up to the Customer to Verify reasonable probability BEFORE BUYING.
It just means "Buyer beware".

"i was thinking i can buy conversion kits for motor mounts my car had a 383 in it oginally"

A 440 will bolt right in using the original mounts off the 383. They are the same.
