Replaced the rear 10 inch drums on my 73 this week with 11 inch disk brakes.  Removed the stock metering/ perportioning valve with a tee for the front brakes and an inline Jegs adjustable perportioning valve for the rear .

Adjusted the E brakes first, then bleed the brakes. It was difficult to get the fluid to the rear calipers. I had the valve adjusted to full increase at first. This caused a hard petal and no flow to the rear. Fronts bleed and worked O.K. I then adjusted the valve to decrease rear brake preasure and the fluid would go to the rear calipers and allow me to bleed the  rear brakes.

With the engine idleing in gear I can just  barely stop the rear wheels from spinning. E  brakes do stop them.

Bad perportioning valve?  Brakes worked well before I tried to make them better.    :brickwall:

What Master Cylinder are you/does this call for? The valve is used for having the rear's drum so open it up all the way I would think.  :scratchchin:

You probably still have air in the lines to the rear wheels.

Use a spreader to push back the pistons in the rear calipers after you've bled the air from them-that will push a large volume of fluid back up into the master cylinder and hopefully take all the air with it.
Be sure that the vibration coils from your master cylinder (if you have any) don't have any downhill spots in them which can trap air.

Stock master cylinder for front power disk brakes.

Removed the vibration coils when I re plumbed. Car brakes where redone master cylinder to wheels 2 years ago.
Only things not replaced where the perportioning valve ,booster and brake petal.

Will bleed again today with a vacuum pump.

Removed the perportioning valve and vacuum bleed. Rear brakes  working now. Petal still a little low and soft . However the brakes appear to work well . Drove about 30 miles tonight, they seam to be getting better as the pads seat.
