HANDM

Well since this is my first post, I figured I'd better make it a good one.
First some background, I have been lurking here for a while but haven't posted yet. I have a 69 SE 383 auto that I am "restoring" for my wife (her first Charger, triple black, 383 4 Barrel got smashed by a tree about 18 yrs ago), so far I have replaced the trunk, quarter patches and misc small patches here and there. Overall a very solid car, It is sitting in epoxy right now awaiting full on spring so I can cut it in and get some color on it. I have most of the parts to put back together, still need a headliner sill plates and whatnot (I'll find out when I start reassembly )

Now onto the main reason for this very important first post,
The other day my wife was out driving and spotted this, in a driveway in Lynnwood WA. Appears to be real, but I couldn't get any closer (being a mopar nutter, it was HARD) I was hoping the owner would see my 70 Challenger in his driveway and come out , but no such luck.
These are crappy cell pics for now, but I will bring the good camera next time :2thumbs:

A383Wing

I remember that car...friend of mine drove by it years ago and snapped a pic of it before the horizontal part of the wing was stolen. (If it's the same car)

If I remember, the car was not exactly in the section of Seattle where you would take yer kids for a walk

OK...the world is a pathetic place sometimes!! Who the heck would steal the CENTER SECTION of a Daytona wing?

easiest part to steal.  all you need is 2 guys and a big allen wrench.

That car I mentioned somewhere on here before . I saw it at a self storage yard in lynnwood and freaked out . the next day it was gone. Hey go knock on their door.

hemi68charger

That for sure is a "one for the books" find.. I've stumbled across two such wing cars in the past; a hemi bird and 440 Daytona..

It would be nice if you were able to find more about the car. Guess it lost its storage?

Thanks for sharing......... Now...... No more lurking......  :rotz:

Cheers,

I'm gonna keep driving by on a regular basis and see if I can catch the owner to see what the story is.
I will be posting more when I start back in on the Charger as I will need some serious support
Here is a pic of it before I fixed the fender
And one of my E's and another of the 66

I'll pose the pics individually, it won't let me do em together.

From what I remember, it's a 440 auto car....

The 66

A383Wing

Ok...just got off the phone with a friend of mine who saw the car in an alley in Central Seattle district...it's the same car he took pic of.

He told me tonight that car was in real bad shape, rear window panels were rusted out, all the windows were rolled down, no dash, no gauges, no headliner.....and that was 26 years ago....and floorboards were rusted through as well.

That's my  :Twocents: worth

It certainly looks like a broken down rusted out shitbox :smilielol:, but hey It's a DAYTONA and I am SURE he's gonna restore it someday :nana:

Hello fellow NW'er.  Welcome to the forum.  If you go to the local Mopar shows I'm sure I've seen ya'.

Those look like a couple nice E bodies as well.  I see your signature says the Chally shows as a 318 car.  Is that original?  Reason I ask is the 340 call outs on the hood.

Alas, you have found me out! It is just a wee little 318 bored to around 327.6 cloned to resemble a R/T. I bought the hood from good ol Craigslist and it already had the 340 callouts on it. The hood had the scoops, blockouts, nos front trim and the D O D G E callouts for just 350! I know there were no 340 R/T Challengers in 70, so really, I should pull the R/T badges and hood callouts off and just go with the A44 (I think that's the code, for 340 dual exhaust) look

Hey,
Slap a DodgeCharger.com sticker on his front door!
That should bring him around.

Not too many rough Daytona's sitting in front driveways anymore. Keep us informed about the car and welcome to the site. There is a lot of info here. Rob.

I Remember seeing this Daytona on the road in 1975 when I first moved to the Seattle area.  Even when on the road it was in pretty sad shape.  I saw it in the Centrial District (a very rough neighborhood).  Several friends stopped to ask about it and were always told IT IS NOT FOR SALE.  Last time I saw it the center wing was missing and the metal area between the rear glass and trunk lid was completely gone.  It has sat out many years in the wet Seattle rain.  Glad to see it at least has a cover on it.

It has, or had, white interior

Mopar John

Someone needs to inform the owner that whoever took the center of the wing may come back for the uprights! Both my cars had the trunks pried while in storage to get the wings! One was opened and the wing removed! They should unbolt the uprights and put them in the house! Then the tarp will cover better and the Daytona a little less obvious. I bought mine in 1982 and didn't finish it till 2009! Other things in life slowed the restoration family, house, divorce, etc! Hopefully this owner has a plan to finish the Daytona!
