Found this quite interesting ad on CraigsList:

1969 Plymouth Barracuda Savage GT - 340 - 383 - 440

Wanted: Info on any surviving 1969 Barracuda Savage GT's - These cars were built by a small company in 1969 - Auto Craft, out of Fond Du Lac, WI. It is believed that 13 cars were produced and sold in the greater Milwaukee area. I would like to start a registry for these rare cars. If you know anyone who owns one of these or owned one in the past, please feel free to e-mail me. I'm also looking for any original parts such as hood, rear deck lid w spoiler, wheels, etc. Pictures are encouraged as well. Please feel free to contact me with any info. Thanks.

I never heard of these cars either, but I live 10 miles from Fond Du Lac, and go there weekly. So I'll do some digging around and see if I can find anything out.

There are some A-body guys on Moparts that recently pulled one out of a Barn in WI.  Really interesting car. I have pictures somewhere.

Was to be a competitor for the Shelby Mustangs... didn't work out too well.

My dad almost bought a dark green Savage Cuda in the late 70's in Milwaukee.   A friend and I were just discussing this kicking ourselves that he or my dad did not buy it.    It was one of the 440 cars, and had been pretty well used.   Somewhere, I have a brochure on the cars - it was just a green mimeographed piece of paper.      Neat cars, super rare, and hardly anyone knows about them.     As mentioned. the idea was to take the car and modifiy it something along the lines of the 67-8 Shelby Mustangs.  The new '70 Cuda body did them in.

There was a Article about them in one of the Mopar Magazines a few yerars ago if I remember right,  Can't remember which one, Maybe MCG?   LEON.

The regular Barracuda grill looks much better IMO. :Twocents:

Yeah, it does. Cool tho, I saw some picture credits for Bob Hubbach in there, I suppose you know he was one of the main designers for the Aussies Chargers.

Doug I'll have to ask my Dad again but I know there are some photo's in a box somewhere here in the house of a Savage that my dad was trying to work out a deal in back in about 79-81. Can't remember the color makes me wonder if its the same one your dad passed on as well.

Danny. it could be the same car as I think it was advertised in the DSAC newsletter about that time.   $2200 or something like that.    Dad was at $1800 and they couldn't get together.
