Not sure if this is where is goes but I need help getting my drag link off. I have the necessary things to do it, I just don't have a clue how. Any help would be appreciated. If someone would not mind taking pics that would be great.  :2thumbs:

are you using an air fork, or the old fork/hammer method?
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

Well I just have a normal pickle fork. So I guess the Fork/Hammer. Never done this so go easy on me.

well, no matter what you're using it's fairly straightforward.  First you remove, or loosen the retaining nut.  The fork is used like a wedge; you just place it between the two items to be separated, give it a little tap to "set" it, and then knock the snot out of it.  Some drop out like nothing, some won't come until you think you're going to have to cut them apart.  Occasionally a soaking of wd40 or some other penetrating oil will help.

I bought a front end puller set - bunch of different sizes and styles for around 100 bucks. They work without wrecking the parts you are removing or the parts they are attached to. The old fork works but it is like performing a delicate surgery with a chain saw. Just my  :Twocents:

If you are putting on all brand new components and are careful the fork should be ok.

I learned a long time ago (the hard way) that having the right tool is the best way to go......no jokes please.  :D

Well I am just taking it off and putting the same one right back on after putting on the headers. I think if I can come up with $100 I will end up buying one because I want to put on that new 73-74 B-body front end kit soon. But until I get that new suspention kit, I will push my luck with the fork my dad brought home yesterday. Anyone have pictures of what i'm working with? Just so I know and not take shit apart idk what it is.

Thanks for the help guys!!!

Yea I heard TTI's work pretty good. But I have already bought my hooker supers and had them powder coated so i'm keeping em.

Here is a picture, it won't help much. All you basically do is remove the tie rods, pitman arm, and idler arm from the drag link. The pitman and idler arm are harder to remove from the drag link than the tie-rods.
