Belgium R/T -68

Since I'm new into bodywork and I've started with the chally I need some help on the way. :yesnod:

Does sandblasting remove seamsealer or do I better remove that myself before going to the blastershop?
How is the best way to remove it when it's so rubber/siliconelike? Sometimes it's hard and peels easy off when you touch it but not here.

depends who's doing the blasting !  most of the time a quick blast ,  will just bounce off  the sealer , , but a heavy blast , concentrated will remove it !!    i would scrape it off first !! but thats just me  :yesnod:

Check with a putty knife for loose spots and gaps first, some of mine looked good but popped off fairly easy.

sometimes take a torch and heat and remove ,only for the most stubborn spots

elitecustombody

putty knife, heat gun, wire wheel will get it off,

theirs all kinds of seam sealers out there that are catalyzed two part. or single stage hat rrequires more dry time.  some are self leveling and really flow out for roof drip rails and then some thicker ones for other applications.   some are brushed on ,  you just need to duplicate whatever part of the car you are doing.

I have used McKanika seam sealer that comes in aerosol cans  it works pretty good and goes on even .  sometimes you put seam sealer on and before it dries take some wax and grease remover and go over it with a rag to smooth out bumps etc,  theirs definetly an art to seam sealing.  I do it every week at crash shop so im pretty good at it.

I like the brushable stuff too,but I prefer the stuff in the caulk type tube.....much cleaner and easier to place the even amount where needed before brushing it around.

Spent most of the afternoon with it yesterday, just like old chewinggum. :eek2: Some areas though where it's thick like

Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...
