A/C vent repair question

My car is an A/C car, and I am fully redoing the dash and gauges right now. The "double" a/c vent in the center of the dash is in good shape, but the right unit is missing the little thin metal band on the back of the louvers that connects the louvers together; so all of the louvers operate independantly, instead of together.
Can I repair this problem, and if so how? Anybody else ran across this problem?

Shouldn't be too hard to make up....just copy the other side.   (unless your missing both of them)

Now the lower band (the one with the waves in it) might be tricky to make
