Dodge went fishin'

Found this old picture on a Mavica floppy and had to post it. Story here was a visit to the local lake for some bank fishing and swimming. Boat ramp watching can be fun too as this day proved out.

Guy backs down the boat ramp with a Mastercraft ski boat attached to a two wheel drive Chevy half ton. Unhooks the boat from the trailer and fires it up. Puts the boat in reverse and tries to goose it off the trailer. The boat sticks to the trailer just long enough to get the truck and trailer sliding down the algae covered ramp.  Everybody watches as the truck/trailer rolls into the deep water, the truck floating just long enough to get off the ramp and sink in about 7 feet. I just happen to have log chains in my Cummins Dodge and yell at the guy who is in shock that maybe I can get the truck out quickly.   I back the truck down the rip rap in 4WD. I give him the chain end as he has beached his boat and is looking at about 2 inches of truck cab sticking out of the water. He quickly goes out and hooks the chain up and then come back to shore. Still in shock he asks the absurd question "can this truck pull it out"? With a confident smile I respond, "no problem, this is a Dodge".   I drop the Cummins in gear and the Chevy and trailer jump out of the lake like a hooked bass, just in time for my wife to take a picture. Chevy cab looks like an aquarium with the bed looking like a kiddie pool until the water drains away. The Chevy has locked itself and the horns and lights are going on and off so the poor guy has to get another set of keys to open it, something I did not know car computers did when they get wet.

My wife added the caption being more clever and computer savy than I am, it made the rounds at work, Dodge Dealership, and I am sure various other places.   Catch of the day.
