That Mod database is built in to their forum software which makes it incredibly simple to set up. Unfortunately, we don't use the same forum software and ours doesn't have anything like that (as far as I know but it could be in development). Other than purchasing commercial software and rebuilding the entire site to use it, my only option is to build something from scratch. I don't currently have the time to do it and, even if I did, it would be behind a huge pile of other stuff. I like the idea of course but it's not something that we'll have any time soon.

On a related note, I really don't think the purchase price of the vehicle or oil changes are considered "mods". ;)

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I would code it, however I'm not familiar with SMF codes and variables... I mainly code in vbulletin.  :scratchchin:

Heh, true!  I'm mainly using that as an online service history... pitiful I know  :pity:

Hey Troy.

http://www.smfgarage.com/

Keep an eye on this one. very nice.
Interesting. It kinda sucks that it took a year to get to version 0.6 Beta but that's how it goes when you're working for free. Man, that throws a big wrench into some of the other stuff I've got in the pipeline.

Sorry, I'm not about to install a buggy Beta version of any software on this site. These guys released version 0.6.0b2 (Beta) last April with no updates since. That particular version comes with this warning:
QuoteDO NOT INSTALL ON A LIVE SERVER! This package WILL NOT be supported in a live environment, so don't ask.

This package is for new SMF Garage installs as well as upgrades from 0.5.2a, 0.5.3a, and 0.6.0b. To upgrade, first uninstall the previous version (0.5.2a, 0.5.3a, 0.6.0b) and then apply this package. Previous packages can then be deleted from your server.

This package is for testing purposes only.

The update prior to that was in December 2006. I checked many of the sites that claim to be using the software and, at this point in time, most aren't. Some managed to get it working but had to do a lot of manual tweaking to get it right. It appears that if I want to use this any time soon I'll probably have to join the team and help write it. Judging from some of the code I've seen it will need a lot of help. Realistically, many of the "features" probably don't pertain to this site so maybe there's something a bit lighter (or another option altogether)?
